Good morning Celts!

We are nearing the end of our regular season. Varsity A plays today at Heritage, JV has a few matches this week and everyone on the team is playing somewhere on Saturday.

On Saturday the 28th, we host our Jerome Honorary Invitational at Tartan Fields. 20 of the top teams in the state will be competing. All vying to win our new Celtic Cup trophy. Shotgun start at 1:30pm. We will have our Varsity A and B teams playing along with 3 individuals. Please come out and support our boys! Pass the word. The more people we have rooting on the Celts the better!!

The Jerome Honorary was started in 2006 to remember Bryan Antonick, a Dublin Middle School golfer who was tragically killed in a plane crash. The tournament honors his memory by recognizing someone in the Dublin community who loves golf and has a passion to help others. This year’s honoree is Mike Cress, Sr. Mike is a long time member of the Dublin and Jerome golf communities. His son Michael was a star player on some of the very first Jerome teams before playing at Ohio State.

Post season starts with Sectionals at Denison on October 1st. Our lineup will be Brady Barnum, Evan Menges, Zach Radtke, Blake Hartman and Conor Hickey. We are still determining who our 6th man will be as that person is critical in case we have a sickness, injury or really poor form from someone in the starting lineup. We will select that person by next week Varsity A is ranked #1 in the State and we haven’t finished lower than 3rd in a tournament all year. Still- much work to be done to get ready to qualify for the state championship. Districts will be very tough.

Coach Tracy, Coach Carlisle and I can’t thank everyone enough for their support this year. The boys have been awesome, we have seen a lot of team bonding, a lot of fun times and a lot of wins. The St Xavier coach told me a few days ago how impressive all 3 of our teams have been this year. In every aspect of their performance and demeanor. Love to hear that.

Go Celts! Hope everyone has a great week!
