Dublin Jerome Wins 9th State Championship
Making It A 3-Peat
Dublin Jerome completed a three-peat at the 2019 OHSAA Boys Division-1 Golf State Tournament on Saturday, Oct. 19 at
The Ohio State University Golf Club Scarlet Course. Jerome now possess nine boys golf team State Championship titles,
trailing only Gahanna Columbus Academy (10) and Upper Arlington (17).

The Celtics shot a 309 during the opening round to lead Akron Archbishop Hoban by one stroke and followed with a 298 in the final round for a two-day total of 607 to finish first of 12 teams, 12 strokes ahead of team runner-up the Hoban Knights.
The Celtics tied their own Division-1 State Tournament record set in 2017 with a team score of 309-298-607.

Dublin Jerome junior Tyler Groomes led the scoring for the Celtics with a 142 (70-72) to capture individual medalist, first-team
All-Ohio honors and tie the D-1 Low Individual Score record at OSU Scarlet.

Seniors Ethan Snyder 153 (79-74) and Ryan Norkin 153 (81-72) tied for a Top 10 finish earning them second-team All-Ohio honors.
 
Green senior Maxwell Moldovan was looking to become the third three-time medalist in OHSAA golf history, but finished as runner-up by two strokes, shooting 144 (69-75). Moldovan won the championship in 2017 and shared the title last season with 2019 Jerome graduate Jackson Chandler.
